President Bill

The elections are over, but sadly, the butthurt has just begun. The Democrats are claiming a huge victory and the Republicans are telling everyone that we are on the verge of the end of the world as we know it and that Obama is going to destroy us all with a crushing deficit that they themselves, with the democrats help, have created over the years. All over my Facebook timeline there are smears coming from both sides that are meaningless, mean spirited, stupid, and overall pointless.
There are pictures of the White House with the words “The only house Romney’s money couldn’t buy.”
There are pictures of Obama laughing about how he’s screwed people in one way or another and cost jobs.
It’s all total bullshit because it’s all fucking meaningless.
People are totally polarized over all these issues they’ve been fed lines about forever as their party brainwashes them much like a church. Their side is right and they don’t need to check any facts or do any research, they just need to spew the party and make the other guy look bad enough that people will vote for their scumbag.
And they’re pretty much all scumbags interested in nothing but power and money.
All this makes me wonder if the Bible isn’t inspired by stuff like this.
But that’s not my point.
All this blather and bile has made me wonder what the real issues are or if, in fact, there are any real issues. It made me wonder what sort of platform I’d stand on, what issues I would address if I were running for president. I realized there are things I see as being important and, for whatever reason, here are my “talking points” as they say, for running for President of the United States of America in order of importance to me.
Honesty.
All these politicians do their damnedest to make themselves look perfect. No one has made any mistakes. No one lies, no one cheats, no one steals, no one has ever said a bad word, no one has ever looked at porn, hell, they’re probably all virgins. Well, not me. Bring up whatever shit you want about me. I’ll own up to it. Yup, I’m fat. Yes, I’m divorced. Yes, I look at TONS of fucked up porn. Indeed, I am depressive and have been unable to work due to being, essentially, bat shit crazy and agoraphobic. And? Tell me how many people out there are just like me, depressive and just trying to get by with whatever they can to help their family and friends? Sure, I’m messed up, I’m not perfect, but fuck, no one is.
Oh, that’s something else. Something very minor. I would like to be the first Presidential candidate to say the word fuck on live television.
And then the first President to say fuck on live television.
Fuck the economy.
Well, maybe not the economy, but the deficit. All the candidates were big into the economy and getting jobs and fixing the deficit and blah blah blah. That’s not going to happen in four years. There is no way that I’m going to be able to fix anything in even eight years. I’m not going to bother with it. Our “economy” is based on spending money we don’t have. That’s everyone’s economy right now. No one has money, except for maybe China, and I’m not sure about them. We’re all in debt to each other. If we’re already spending money we don’t have, fuck it. I’m at least going to spend money we don’t have on things we actually need.
Education, Science, and Arts.
I cannot stress enough how important I think these things are. I would have put them at the top, but honesty and the ability to spend on these two are more important to me. We need to focus on making people more intelligent, and giving them the tools to learn. I can’t say I know how, but that’s why we have cabinets and people smarter than us to help us along. I want to give schools WAY more money, for food, for education, but NOT for sports. Sports can make money on their own, I’ve seen it. You want sports, you get the money yourself. I’m not talking about reforming how schools spend money, not at all, just that the money I give them goes STRICTLY to education and food. I keep saying food, I know, and that’s because I happen to know that food is kind of last on educational money lists which leads to all those fun jokes about how bad the food is, despite how hard people work to make something delicious, nutritious, hot and fresh. Believe it or not, what we eat can affect our moods and mental states. And yes, the food should be healthy, but there should be delicious and wrong options. We all have our vices, we all need our sweets and fun foods. If we didn’t, no one would ever bring donuts to work, no one would ever make cakes for birthday parties, we’d ban Halloween, etc. So, with the money I would give schools, which would be SUBSTANTIAL, should buy all new books or allow them to upgrade all kinds of equipment, get a new theater built, add an art wing, and more. In fact, what I’d like to do is, since we did it for the airlines twice and automotive industry, and the banks, is give the schools a bail out. Each school can have like a billion dollars. Why not? Education is just as important as jobs, and if we can give billions of dollars to things that FUCKING FAILED AND SHOULD BE GONE ACCORDING TO HOW OUR ECONOMY WORKS (I don’t see any small businesses getting bailed out because they can’t keep up with the big corporations WHO DID GET BAILED OUT) then why can’t we give the money to someone who actually fucking needs it? Fuck, if I can help it, I would like to give schools enough money to build all new schools, entire new buildings and still have enough to get entirely new equipment, books, computers and more. I want schools to be able to raise teacher’s salaries to that of football and basketball stars, because teachers actually work and actually do something important. They should make as much as a monkey who throws a ball down a field for entertainment, or even a Hollywood actor makes for pretending. Hell, teachers should make more, they have to put up with our kids. Think about that. The important thing is for the teachers to want to teach (which they do already with the shitty salaries they get) and for them to have everything they need to get kids interested in learning from an early age and keep them interested so that we don’t end up with a nation that doesn’t know Obama is the president’s last name, or asking who Neil Armstrong was, or thinking that Norway isn’t a real country and Mexico is in Spain, or that the Kardasians are something important and Jersey Shore is the perfect life.
The Science part would start with colleges. Not all colleges though. I want to find a way to make college more accessible, but I’m not entirely sure how. See, the reason I’m willing to just throw money at schools is because I know they aren’t funded by tuition, really. Yes, there is some, but it’s minimal and I think they have a limit. They’re mostly publicly funded. Colleges I believe are funded mostly by tuition and sports. Now, I could be wrong, and if I am, then hey, shove more money to colleges, but for now, let’s say that colleges can compete for science money and such, which would be substantial, but only a few could win because they’re outstanding colleges for science. So these colleges would thrive and continue helping people with their love of learning and science after school is done and would stand tall and proud as beacons of education. I think it should be a round robin, thing too, so that they can win one year, but not the next to give other colleges a chance and that might help. Again, it’s only a starting idea. Something to get the ball rolling until I can find a better solution.
It should be noted that I associate math with science. The two pretty much go hand in hand.
The second part of science would be giving funding to important research, the first and foremost being NASA. Shit tons of money to those guys. NASA is our future, plain and simple. We need to find ways to colonize more planets for more resources as we have more people. There’s no need to control people and breeding, so we need to find new places for all these new people to live, and if we want to make the planet safe for continued living, we need to find ways to reduce pollution, reduce population (by moving them to new planets) and NASA is the way we do that. We get a lot from NASA and space exploration is important. The more they find to better recycle and purify air, the more fuel alternatives they find, the better the whole planet is. We also need to fund stem cell research and pharmaceutical companies. We need to find a way to make those companies better so that we still have safe testing but without all those side effects when the drug comes out, and to make sure that people can afford the drugs they need. People with asthma shouldn’t have to pay a hundred fifty bucks for medicine that could help them live normal lives. Antibiotics shouldn’t be fifty bucks or better. No one should have to even have insurance to afford medical care. That, however, is for a later part. For now, we need to find a way to get these people what they need to cure our ills. We need to find a way to obliterate brain diseases, birth defects, let blind people who want to see the chance to, deaf people who want to hear the chance to. We need to find a way to help them cure cancer, AIDS or any other disease that comes along. Now, you’re right, the only way I know is to throw money at them, cause that’s what makes the world go ‘round (not love as the Powerpuff Girls have told me, but hey, they’re kids) and since I’m not raising taxes cause we’re using money we don’t have anyway, give ‘em cash.
Art.
Art is so vitally important, we can’t have it going away. It goes right along with science. If we don’t have the ability to dream and imagine, we don’t have the ability to grow. If we can’t paint, if we don’t learn about those who have created in the past, then we stagnate. If we can’t appreciate music we get what we have for music today. Okay, that’s not fair, every parent hates their children’s music, so let’s leave that out, but it should be important for a child to love Mozart as much as Lady Gaga, or Bieber. They should have an appreciation for the classics and the contemporaries. They should love John Williams right alongside Nicki Minaj, and more. Art let’s kids dream, and we need dreamers as much as we need rational science minded folk. The two should be one and the same, in my opinion, but we can only hope. Still, music, painting, drawing, creative writing, acting, all of that needs to be funded and there are schools right now who are getting rid of band, art and theater programs. That’s terrible. Oh, I fucking guarantee they still have sports, which makes me hate sports, but they have their place too. I know, that sounds weird coming from me, but it’s true. Sports have their place, and everyone has their own tastes, but that’s why we need to keep funding all these programs. Sports does on its own. If they can run when art can’t, sports don’t need any help. So, more funding specifically for art programs, for creative programs, for dreaming programs.
The Military.
This is basically on the same level as the education stuff, but I feel education is JUST SLIGHTLY more important here. A well-funded education system could lead to breakthroughs that will help the military. Now, what I feel we need here isn’t more money for military funding. If we need to, yes. I hate to admit it, but we need a strong, well-funded military. There are extremists out there who want to do very bad things to us, and we need them to know we have more intelligent, better trained, and better armed people who can hurt them than what we have. I want to make damned well sure that there aren’t any 9/11’s or Benghazi’s on my watch, or anyone else’s. So, to that end, education to make smarter weapons, better armor, maybe even robotic soldiers so our boys don’t have to die. Who knows? But that’s actually not my main goal. Keeping the status quo, maybe even upping a little, yes, but my biggest goal are the soldiers in the here and now. Anyone who  has defended our country, anyone who has fought in a way, anyone who has put their life on the line in the guard or any part of the military deserves compensation. Those in military service deserve a decent wage FOR LIFE, and I’m talking like fifty grand a year or better (adjusting for inflation as it occurs). They deserve free medical care FOR LIFE. Hell, they deserve free gas and vehicles FOR LIFE. These people went out and risked their lives to save us and preserve the freedoms we take for granted, like the freedom to bitch about how the military is too big and we don’t need war and give peace a chance. Yes, you can have your opinion, and by all, you can state your opinion and publish books and everything but that is only because these men and women went out and fought to protect those rights. The families of men and women who died in battle deserve compensation FOR LIFE just like the soldiers who are still alive. Let’s give these people the recognition they deserve. The military gets a lot of flak, and that’s not right. All of them from technicians who repair the ships and vehicles to those that are out there getting shot at are doing it because they believe in something, and they deserve to be taken care of for doing so. I don’t want to go quite as far as Starship Troopers, but I can understand that mentality to a point. But again, when there are disasters, there are soldiers who go out and help. That’s part of their job, keeping you safe even as the flood waters rise, or the temperatures plummet. I can recall wondering if my dad was safe a number of times as he went out in incredibly harsh conditions to go and start and maintain generators so regular folk could have power and heat. He fought in a major war and still has shrapnel in his body. Don’t you think he deserves something for doing that? I certainly do, and I think all those who would do like he did deserve it too. I just can’t stress that enough. Those people are right up there with teachers in my mind, because they do something so important for us all.
Also, and this is just for me, I’d really like to make a brown note weapon. It would just make me giggle, even if it never gets used for anything but entertainment.
The Sanctity of Marriage.
This is total bullshit. I don’t know where people pull this bullshit from. This is Fox News/MSNBC worthy bullshit (and boy would those fuckers hate me). There is no sanctity of marriage. Marriage used to be for monetary gain and stability. It has almost never been between one man and one woman. Hell, most of those shits in the Bible had like, five wives or better. Monogamy was NOT was it was about. Now, sure, today, it isn’t about how many goats you can get for marrying someone, or what political status could be gained (cause it’s been used for that as well) but between two people who love each other. That’s it. There is nothing else. A man and a woman. A man and a man. A woman and a woman. MARRIAGE. Get over it, because, and this is true, using your religion to persecute people and keep them from their CONSTITUTIONAL FREEDOMS is, in itself, a blatant violation of the CONSTITUTION. So all you anti-gay people, SHUT THE FUCK UP. We’re done talking. Marriage is marriage, gay or straight.
Abortion.
This isn’t my decision. The option should be there, safe and ready, for those who need it. I am a man. It is not my body, it is not my choice. Now, should my wife become pregnant, then I’d like to think I have some say, but in the end, again, it’s her body, not mine. I cannot and WILL not impose my laws on her body. I don’t want to hear what the Bible says. I don’t care what the Bible says. The Bible has nothing to do with law, it has to do with your beliefs and your beliefs, again cannot be imposed on other people because of your religion. FREEDOM of and FROM religious persecution. That means you can’t thump your Bible, tell people God says so and that we have to do it because God says so. You can believe that God says so, you can protest, hey, that’s fine, but you can’t make a fucking LAW that says it because God says so.
Deal with it.
Foreign Aid and Relations.
I’m sorry, but this is dead last. Yes, I’d like to keep ties intact, I’d like to keep peace, and not make waves and raise the general likedness of America, but we have enough problems of our own, and, let’s face it, so do they. Let’s focus on helping each other where we can, raising awareness and such, but in the end, let’s try to take care of our own problems at home first. We really need to make it okay here before we try to bring freedom somewhere else. I mean, if you’re wife and kids are in the hospital from a car bomb, you don’t go over to another city to help someone else in the same situation. You commiserate, you empathize, you maybe offer a buck or two if you can spare it, but you take care of your own first. I know, that might sound a bit weird, but I don’t know how else to put it. Yes, we need to compete globally, and maintain a world presence, but we need to take care of ourselves first. That’s just how I feel. Pull our troops home from those hopeless wars and let those countries do what they will. We really had no right to be there in the first place, in my opinion. I mean, if we’re there for Hussein’s crimes against humanity, why aren’t we invading China for taking those same freedoms and having a worse human rights policy? Doesn’t make much sense to me. So, get our boys home, safe and sound and turn to healing ourselves first. Then we can see about helping those who need it.
And that’s about it.
Sure, there’s a bunch of other things that need addressing, but those are the most important things to me. Those are the things I think we need to take care of first and foremost in our country. Now, if you agree, great. If you don’t, also great. These are just my opinions. They’re nothing to die for. They’re nothing to hate over. That’s what we need to really see, is that, in the end, we need to talk things out and find common ground. Instead we divide further, the left and the right, and we hate harder, and we refuse to do anything that would raise our side without smearing the other side. That’s fucking stupid.
Look at it like this, you need your left and your right hands. It’s like cutting off one or the other because you’re stronger with one side, and that’s all you need, right?
Later days.
